Learning Readiness at the Cherry school are three full days a week for children you are 4 years old before September 1, 2021.  We currently offer two classes.  One class meets four days-a-week (M T TH F) and another class that meets 3 days-a-week (T TH F)   We will help prepare your child socially and emotionally as well as academically for kindergarten.  Our instruction is guided by not only the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress but we also use the Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Assessment.  We will have parent-teachers conferences twice per year.  Parents are also required to participate in our parent-involvement days a minimum of 2 days.   Bus transportation is available on our regular school routes.

We currently full for this year but we are happy to add anyone to the wait list.  Children are required to be fully potty trained, to be up-to-date on all immunizations, and have participated through early childhood screening. Questions please contact Ms. Deb at 218-258-8991 or email .

Dates for the 2021-22 School Year for special events:

Learning Readiness Parent Involvement Days: For current students enrolled in our preschool program, we are hosting our first parent involvement event. This is a great opportunity to come to the school and have some one-on-one time with their child. We will have special activities and games for parents to do with their preschooler. These will be shared with families who are registered in our program throughout the year.

2022-2023 Registration for Preschool:
Registrations for preschool will be mailed out in the Spring of 2022.

*** SPECIAL NOTE:    The State of Minnesota requires that all children participating in ECFE and/or Learning/School Readiness programs need to be up-to-date on all immunizations in order to attend.   Please double check with your physician that your child is up-to-date on immunizations so there are no missed school days.
