fairlawn-571x800Step back in time with a 45 minute tour of the carefully restored, Queen Anne style, Fairlawn Mansion. Built as the family home of lumber and mining baron, Martin Pattison, his wife Grace and their six children, Fairlawn was completed in 1891 at the cost of $150,000; an equivalent of well over $3 million today. The mansion features a four story turret complete with widow’s watch overlooking the bay, gilded fittings, painted ceilings and elaborate frieze, a grand entrance hall, marble and tile fireplaces, and original leaded and stained glass windows. Enjoy a catered lunch in these elegant surroundings. Lunch will included Mandarin orange chicken, pasta salad, croissant, fruit kebab, chocolate mousse, water, and choice of tea or coffee. All gratuities are included. Allergan and vegetarian alternative requests can be made in advance. Register for this charming outing by September 26th (the caterer needs a head count well in advance).

Mr. Eds Spooky Farm Adventure

Bayfield Historic Dining - Wassail Dinner at Old Rittenhouse Inn Join us on this deluxe motor-coach bus trip on Dec. 8 to the Old Rittenhouse Inn in Bayfield, Wisconsin for a 3-course Christmas luncheon paired with a concert of holiday music performed by the Rittenhouse Singers, a professional choir backed by local musicians and directed by Innkeeper, Jerry Phillips.

Join us on this day trip on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019 with Community Education.  The cost of this day trip includes deluxe motor-coach (toilet on the bus), roundtrip bus fare, and matinee show ticket. We will make a short stop at Tobies in Hinckley on the way down.  Pick up a snack there or bring a bag lunch.  Dinner will be on your own at Union Bar & Grill in Minneapolis after the play, or at the restaurant of your choice nearby.  (Cost is not included in your trip fee; you pay out-of-pocket for dinner.)  You must indicate if you will be having dinner at Union Bar and Grill when you register for the trip in order for us to make a reservation for you.  (You may also bring a bag dinner.)
