As you can see from my school pictures, I haven’t aged much.  Well, maybe I have aged a little.  All right, I have aged quite a bit.  I have been teaching at Cherry School for 20 years.  Before that I taught at Cotton for one year and six years in Lancaster, California.
My father was career military so that meant we traveled quite a bit.  As a family we started in Michigan and ended up in Michigan.  In between, we lived in Rhode Island; New Jersey; New York; Lima, Peru, Virginia, and North Carolina.  I too was in the military at one time.  I drove a tank in Bamberg, Germany.
I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in English.  Western Michigan University is in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  The most famous person from Kalamazoo would be Derek Jeter, the former shortstop of the New York Yankees, and the most famous person from Western Michigan would be Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear.  I also attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and received a degree in special education.
My wife’s name is Cheryl and I have two sons: Jonathan and Joe.  They both attend Hibbing High School.  Jonathan is a senior and hopes to study chemical engineering at UMD.  Joe is in tenth grade and has several years to decide on his future.
I am very lucky to teach at Cherry School.  This is a community where people support each other and that makes all the difference.
